Zazie Olivia Beetz was born on the 1st of January 1991 in Berlin. Following graduation from Skidmore College Beetz was able to immediately begin auditioning and was offered the role in the role of Van in Atlanta. Beetz is the daughter of the son of a German father as well as an African American mother from Berlin, was raised by her parents in New York and spoke German as well as English.
